Dissolve vector features by attribute field online: polygons with the same value are unioned and shared borders removed. Works with SHP, GeoJSON, KML, GPKG, GPX and more; lines and points merge into multipart geometries — all locally in your browser.

Vector Dissolve merges features that share the same value in an attribute field into single geometries. Pick a dissolve field — for example province name — and every group of features with the same value is aggregated into one output feature, collapsing hundreds of fragments into a handful of clean polygons.
Dissolving is essential after downloads, digitizing, or buffering, which tend to produce many small adjacent pieces: merge county fragments into states, combine parcel slivers into blocks, or unify buffered zones per category. The hint bar shows how many groups your field will create, and processing happens entirely in your browser.
Upload your vector file and review the field preview to find the attribute you want to dissolve by.
Select the dissolve field — the tool immediately shows into how many groups the features will be merged — and choose whether to keep the field value on the output features.
Run the dissolve, review the result summary (original feature count versus dissolved), and download the dissolved file.
ANo. All features sharing the field value are combined into one output feature, whether they touch or not — non-adjacent ones become a multi-part geometry. Use the Geometry Repair tool first if you specifically want topologically clean merges of touching shapes.
AAttributes that vary within a group cannot be carried over meaningfully, so the output keeps the dissolve field's value (optionally) and drops the rest. If you need statistics from other fields, compute them before dissolving.
AThe Merge tool simply stacks multiple files into one layer without combining features. Dissolve goes further: it geometrically unions features sharing an attribute value, reducing the feature count and removing internal boundaries.
AYes — dissolve by a field that has the same value everywhere, and every feature unions into one geometry covering the entire layer extent.
ADissolve is a standard GIS operation: features sharing the same value of an attribute field are merged into one geometry. Dissolving by "province name", for example, turns thousands of parcels across 34 provinces into 34 polygons with shared borders removed.
AYes. Polygons dissolve into unioned geometry; lines and points are merged by field into multipart geometries (MultiLineString/MultiPoint), matching the dissolve behavior of QGIS.
AAll mainstream vector formats: SHP, GeoJSON, KML, GPKG, GPX, DXF, CSV and more — with a separate output format, e.g. SHP in, GeoJSON out.
