Comprehensive guides for all geoo.app features

Data Format Conversion

Convert geospatial data between multiple formats. geoo.app supports bidirectional conversion between the following formats:

How to Convert Files

  1. Click Choose File or drag and drop your geospatial file onto the upload area.
  2. Select the target format from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the Convert button to start the conversion.
  4. Download the converted file once processing is complete.

Supported Input Formats

GeoJSON (.geojson, .json)
Shapefile (.zip)
KML (.kml)
KMZ (.kmz)
GPX (.gpx)
CSV (.csv, .tsv)
TopoJSON (.topojson)
DXF (.dxf)
GeoPackage (.gpkg)
WKT (.wkt)

Tips

  • For Shapefile, compress all related files (.shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj) into a single .zip archive.
  • CSV files should include latitude/longitude or X/Y columns for conversion to GeoJSON.
  • Large files (100MB+) are processed using streaming to prevent browser memory issues.

Coordinate Conversion

Transform geographic coordinates between different coordinate reference systems (CRS).

How to Convert Coordinates

  1. Enter coordinates in the input field (latitude, longitude or X, Y).
  2. Select the source coordinate system.
  3. Select the target coordinate system.
  4. The converted coordinates will appear automatically.

Supported Coordinate Systems

  • WGS84 (EPSG:4326) - Standard GPS coordinates
  • Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) - Used by most web mapping applications
  • UTM - Universal Transverse Mercator, with all zone support
  • National grid systems for various countries
  • Thousands of projected CRS via EPSG code lookup

Data Visualization & Preview

Preview geospatial data on an interactive map before or after conversion.

  • Upload a file to see its contents rendered on the map automatically.
  • Zoom, pan, and click on features to inspect their properties.
  • Supported visualization for points, lines, polygons, and multi-geometries.
  • Layer controls to toggle visibility of different feature types.

General Information

Is my data safe?

Yes. All file processing happens entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to any server. When you close the browser tab, all processed data is cleared from memory.

File size limits

Most formats support files up to 500MB. For Shapefile archives, the limit is 200MB. Stream-based parsing is used for large files to maintain browser responsiveness.

Browser compatibility

geoo.app works best in modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser for the best experience.
